Bubblewrap

Serving up souped-up versions of Hong Kong egg waffles, you’ve probably seen Bubblewrap’s ice cream waffle wraps all over your Instagram feed. And trust us, they taste just as good as they look. Start by choosing you waffle base (plain, chocolate or matcha) and then from a selection of fillings, from sweet to savoury. And don’t forget to snap your own pic underneath the Wardour Street gate!

Mamasons

You can’t miss the pink and gold of Mamasons’ shop front – and you shouldn’t miss the pinky purple hue of their ube bilog either! The pandesal milk bun filled with purple yam (‘ube’) ice cream is Mamasons’ signature treat, and whilst we couldn’t recommend it more, if you want something even more unusual, try their queso or black buko flavours!

Tsujiri

If you’re a matcha fiend, there’s no better place for you than Tsujiri. They’re well known for their teas and lattes, but in the summer months we’d recommend you try their vibrant green Mr Whippy-style matcha ice cream, sprinkled with puffed rice and topped with a dollop of red bean paste and a Tsujiri wafer, or the ultimate sweet treated it their shaved ice desserts- a towering serving of flaky matcha-infused ice with a mocha and red bean surprise.

Taiyakiya

Taiyaki have been one of the most unprecedented import successes to our dessert market. All the way from Japan, Taiyaki are a fish-shaped waffle cone, and at Taiyakiya (literally translates as ‘Taiyaki House’!) you can get yours filled with all sorts of flavours of soft serve ice cream. Beats a Mr Whippy any day! And it’s only just opened, so you’ll be one of the first to get your hands on the best Taiyaki in London.
