Trying a new cuisine can be a little daunting for kids but there’s plenty on offer in Chinatown London to excite their taste buds! Even the fussiest of eaters will leave happy.

Stock up for a full day of family adventures at Chinatown Bakery, where you can grab a number of fresh, sweet and savoury baked goods that’ll keep everyone going until lunchtime – including moreish BBQ pork buns and bright green Pandan cake. Or stop by Oseyo, where you’ll find a little slice of Korea in the heart of London with shelves stocked high with tasty, quirky snacks and chilled drinks.

For delicious dim sum, stop by Plum Valley and tuck into their vibrant rainbow platter comprising of meat, fish and veggie dumplings or keep things simple with succulent crispy aromatic duck pancakes.

At Bun House you can enjoy seasonal baos (look out for the Easter specials!) as well as regular favourites including the salted egg yolk custard bun. Whilst China Modern serves up adorable Cha Siu ‘piggy’ buns – the kids can also enjoy watching fresh dumplings and noodles being artfully prepared by chefs in the front display kitchen.

Cuppacha was the first bubble tea shop to open in Chinatown London. Quirky teas are Happy Lemon’s thing, serving up plenty of customisable and wonderful blends, whilst Chatime’s must-try is their creamy Mousse – ice tea topped with a generous splodge of lightly whipped mousse.

Head over to Chinatown’s sweet spot, better known as ‘Dessert Alley’, for delicious soft serves, shaved ice, ESEA cakes and more!

Taiyakiya offers traditional taiyaki as well as taiyaki soft serve topped with candy unicorns and mermaid tails. Mamasons’ Ube Hot Chocolate and traditional Filipino milk buns (pandesal) with bright purple Ube ice cream are a favourite on this sweet-treat street.

Héfaure flip up an array of delicious Japanese style soufflé pancakes made with natural, fresh ingredients. Candy Cafe’s shaved ice dessert, also known as Crystal Snow Ice, is a popular Taiwanese dessert made from shaved blocks of frozen milky ice.

Miniso and Popmart are both treasure troves for plush toys, accessories, and figurines of popular characters such as Hello Kitty and Astro Boy. House of Spells is a collector’s haven for all things magical and whimsical. Enter a world of wizards, fantastical beasts, and superheroes, with merchandise and memorabilia – including the likes of Harry Potter.
