Chinese New Year celebrations in Chinatown London are the largest outside of China, making it the ultimate destination to experience this vibrant time of year. Those born in the Year of the Snake – 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, and 2025 – are said to be resourceful, insightful, and graceful problem-solvers, embodying the power of adaptability and growth.
How will Chinese New Year be celebrated in Chinatown?

A number of restaurants have introduced CNY menus and limited edition Year of the Snake foods and festive drinks, take a look at what’s on offer for the duration of the festivities.
Annual Parade
In partnership with The London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA). The annual Chinese New Year parade will take place on Sunday 2nd February, starting from East of Trafalgar Square to Chinatown. Ahead of the parade, there are expected to be lion dance performances throughout Chinatown on Saturday 1st February to excite and entertain visitors in celebration of the festivities.
In Chinatown London you’ll find lion dancing, stalls and plenty of places to stop off for a Chinese New Year feast.
