If comforting yet chic sounds like your cup of (green) tea, look no further than China Modern. This noodle and dumpling restaurant on Newport Place has taken the essence of 1930s Shanghai design to craft an elegant dining space.

Diners and passers-by can enjoy watching fresh dumplings and noodles being artfully prepared by chefs in the front display kitchen.

Signature dishes include Shanghai dumplings (xiao long bao) and drunken chicken, as well as roast duck noodles, wun tun noodles and a selection of chef specials inspired by traditional home cooking.
